•We are very pleased to announce that our guest artist for this year’s festival is trumpeter Wayne Bergeron.  He will be performing during our noon concert hour, and again prior to our awards ceremony.  Wayne Bergeron is enjoying a career as one of the most sought-after musicians in the world. Studio sessions, film dates, international touring, jazz concerts, guest appearances, and clinics keep him busy not only in his hometown of Los Angeles, but worldwide.  Bergeron’s first big break was playing lead trumpet with Maynard Ferguson’s band in1986. As a sideman, Bergeron’s list of recording credits reads like a who’s who in contemporary jazz and pop, running the stylistic gamut from Ray Charles and Barbra Streisand to Green Day and The Dirty Loops. His session work includes over 350 TV & motion picture soundtracks, and Bergeron can be heard as a featured soloist on films such as Ted 2, MinionsJersey Boys, The Incredibles, Rocky Balboa, The Green Hornet,Despicable Me 2, and numerous TV shows including Jeopardy.  Bergeron has recorded and played with Quincy Jones, Gordon Goodwin, Arturo Sandoval, Pat Williams, Sammy Nestico, Jack Sheldon, Tom Kubis, Bob Florence, Bob Curnow, and many others. Bergeron’s debut effort, “You Call This a Living?” earned him a Grammy nomination in 2004 for Best Large Jazz Ensemble. Bergeron’s second CD, “Plays Well With Others,” released on the Concord Jazz label in 2007, was met with likewise acclaim. He just released his newest CD, “Full Circle” this year. Bergeron is a National Artist for the Yamaha Corporation of America and is co-designer of the YTR-8335LA trumpet and YFH-8315G Flugelhorn. Bergeron also designed a series of trumpet mouthpieces with GR Technologies.
