The New Mexico State University Music Department and Jazz Ensembles are pleased to announce the 50thAnniversary Jazz Festival and Jumpstart. This year’s festival will feature an All Star lineup including, Hollywood Studio Trumpet Artist, Wayne Bergeron, Yamaha String Educator and Artist, Christian Howes, and former member of the Chuck Mangione Jazz Ensemble and Selmer Jazz Artist, Chris Vadala.

The 50thAnnual NMSU Jazz Festival and Jumpstart will take place at the Atkinson Recital Hall on November 15thand 16th, 2018. NMSU Jazz II and the Alumni Band(s) will perform with guest artist Chris Vadala the evening of  November 15th and NMSU Jazz I will perform with Wayne Bergeron and Christian Howes on November 16th.  This event is sponsored by The New Mexico Arts Council, Olivas Music-El Paso, The Selmer Corporation, Yamaha Musical Instrument Corporation, and the New Mexico State University Music Department. Each evening's concert ticket prices will be $5 for students and $15 for adults.  Participating students will be admitted free of charge. Fee for participating bands is $150 per ensemble.  Individual students wanting to attend clinics and concerts can pay $10 to attend all events.
